Emerson Warner

Dear friends,
Taxes are almost due, and if you didn't know already, Arizona gives you the choice of how your taxes are used, in the form of a tax credit. One of the tax credit options is the private school tax credit, which helps create scholarships for kids like ours at no-cost-to you.
Last year we realized firsthand how different learning abilities truly can be, and how matching those up to the right academic structure is imperative to the success of the child. When we transitioned Emerson from a Pre-K Montessori school to a public school for Kindergarten, the large class size and academic structure, coupled with new teachers and friends led to behavioral issues that started to overshadow his academic capabilities. After 4+ years of loving to learn, our son had become “the bad kid” in his class. 3 months into the school year, and after many meetings with his teacher and school principal, we decided to move Emerson to a smaller local private school, Primavera. At Primavera, Emerson is 1 of 14 in his class and the structure is designed to not only meet a high level of academic excellence but provides environmentally integrated education to the whole child. We are thrilled to say that Emerson was quickly back to doing great academically and socially and was recognized with a “Quick Thinker” award by his Kindergarten teacher at end of the school year. He continues to thrive in 1st grade at Primavera and takes so much pride in his school and all that he is learning. We feel blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of the Primavera community, and the STO program has helped make this more attainable for our family.
The way the private school tax credit works is anytime between now and April 15, 2021, you can contribute to School Tuition Organization 4 Kidz (STO4KIDZ) a charitable organization that awards a minimum ninety percent of every dollar in scholarships to students who attend Arizona private schools. When you file your taxes for 2020 you will deduct that amount off of your Arizona state taxes, and because it is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, the net cost to you is ZERO while the benefit to our family is PRICELESS! You simply have the option of paying your taxes to the state or redirecting those funds through this program. You can even recommend a school or a student if you like.
Would you consider participating in this program, and redirecting your taxes to support Emerson’s education? We are redirecting our income taxes to assist another family since we can’t utilize it for our own child.
The Arizona 2020 Tax Credit Maximums is $2,365 if married filing jointly/ & $1,183 if filing single, or your actual tax liability, whichever is less. You can contribute online here through April 15, 2021, or print and fill out the form here and mail it in with a check. STO4KIDZ will email you a receipt for your taxes.
If you have any questions, feel free to call either of us. Or you can speak directly with the incredible staff at STO4KIDZ (602-698-8855).
Forever grateful,
Chris & Andrea Warner (480-421-8713)
